She was beaming with accomplishment while waiting for me to read her letter from school. She is excited and proud. As am I.
I couldn't wait to get a look at it so I headed there just a bit ago (its on the same block as my work). There were nine pieces selected from her school.
I have never been to an art gallery so I didn't quite know what to expect. I was walking down the long hallway to get to the lobby area to be directed to the exhibit. I couldn't help but feel so proud of her. In that moment, I was able to let go of all of the sadness and other emotions that have a hold on me as of lately and just be proud and in the moment.
So there were nine from her school. As I am looking at them, I am wondering which is hers because none of them had names on it. So I start looking at the back of each one which was difficult because they were all taped on from the back in four spots. I was waiting for security. Then, I looked at the one at the top, and there it was. She put her name inside of one of her circles. So smart my girl is! I then had to stand on a chair to get this picture and again I was waiting for security but a moms gotta do what a moms gotta do!

A Proud Mommy Moment, for sure!!
GREAT JOB Jada!!!!
=)
It is so beautiful. I like that the top corner looks like an eye with her name in it. Like it says, "look at me for who I am. A beautiful talented girl..who sees the world differently than you."
I heart her!
I love it! What a talented little girl you have :)
Thank you all.
Meri. You are right. You can add art interpreter to you list of many talents.
It's beautiful! Absolutely beautiful! Tell her that this D mom thinks she has lots of talent!
I'm wondering if art therapy would help her deal with some of her emotions. Just an idea...
WOW...what a beautiful piece...I look at it and feel like she gave us a glimpse inside her soul.
Seems like pursuing some sort of art class or camp or something would be a great way for her to express herself.
This picture feels very expressive to me...like she's feeling as if eye are are watching her? Or maybe each box represents a different emotion?
I'm no art pro or anything, but this just seems so incredibly genuine and transparent to me.
Love it!!!
